What Do You Do When It Rains

Cry, get frustrated and shout at others because they can control the weather!

Well that’s not going to help anyone and it will not get you any closer to taking more photos.

So what can you control? Your camera, the layout of the area around you, the positive thinking and the light. No excuses people, let’s do this.

So the challenge this week was textures, that’s easy really as everything has a texture, it all depends on how you want to go about getting the photo. So I went with food photography and here is what I came up with.

It’s nothing special and it’s definitely not the picture I had in mind of taking. But look, we had snow & heavy rain for most of the week and time was running out with all the boring jobs I have to do each week starting to take over.

I love this photo because it captures the detail in the main strawberry of the little hairs and the dips in the surface. You can even zoom right in and get a totally different photograph which would make you take a double look to try and work out what this red bumpy surface is.

I used my trusted Nikon D750 with my 105mm lens. Set this up in my kitchen on top of the hob and had a flash light above the strawberries which surrounded them in light and blacked out everything else.

To check out more of my work pop along to www.SnapCreativePhotos.com you can also book me for events and portraits.

The next challenge will be announced Tuesday and I would love to see how you are all getting on with the challenges so far this month. Join me and get out and take more photos!
